Bill Ingalls is the senior photographer for NASA and we were able to meet with him over zoom and if you were lucky enough to talk to him in person at the Mission. I had meet him at the restaurant and he was fantastic to talk to. After some brief introductions by Margot very excited for me to meet him, we spoke about how he got the job, what he loves about it, and what I see myself doing in the future.
During our zoom call, he displayed his work for us, showing how he travels to photograph launches. Although I don't think getting a job at NASA is really in the cards for any of us, Bill represented the opportunities we can make for ourselves as young professionals. His job didn't exist when he was young and he created a name for himself to eventually end up at NASA. I think that's really inspiring. I've heard that from other professionals as well. They step into a place they want to work and make something for themselves. Bill inspires me to do just that.
